About me and my therapy practice

If you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed or unsure of a way forward, I can offer you a calm, supportive space where you can talk freely and feel truly listened to. When you are ready to take the first step, I'm here to support you.

Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to cope on your own. Together we can explore what's troubling you. Therapy can help you to overcome mental and emotional obstacles that are holding you back, and I can help you work through any difficult issues.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential counselling space, so you will have a place to open up about whatever is concerning you. Therapy can help you to feel lighter and truly listened to. It can also help you to feel more at peace with yourself and others, and can help you to re-discover what gives your life meaning.

I am a person centred therapist, and therefore believe that with support you can find your inner strength that will lead to a way forward. Through working together, I will support you in developing coping strategies and gaining fresh perspectives.

I have supported clients with a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, family relationships and anger issues amongst others. Whatever is brought to therapy, I aim to help you explore your concerns in order to gain a better understanding of yourself and others and a way forward.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and I abide by the BACP code of ethics. I hold an enhanced DBS check.

Practice description

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place in a calm, pleasant environment. Sessions are either face-to-face in Northaw or online.

You can bring past or present issues to the session, anything that is on your mind. I encourage you to work at your own pace and to move forward only when you feel comfortable.

Fees:

Introductory Block: six sessions for £50 per session. This can be paid in two payments

Block of six sessions (after introductory block): £55 per session. This can be paid in two payments

Open-Ended: book weekly in advance; each session is £60. Pay as you go.

Concessions are available for low income, students and trainee counsellors.

My first session

Initial consultation: It can feel difficult knowing which counsellor to choose, therefore I offer a free telephone consultation to help you decide and answer questions you may have. The consultation will provide you with an opportunity to talk about your needs and expectations and discuss the best way forward. You can use this time to see if you feel comfortable before moving forward to full sessions.

First Session: This session is to get to know each other. This will be an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve and how we might work together. Together, we will see if I am the right person to help you.
