About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Sara. I’m a warm and open-minded therapist who offers a welcoming and safe space for both couples and individuals. Thank you for reading my profile and, if you are considering having therapy, you have taken the first brave, and often difficult, step. You might be reading this because you are feeling depressed and finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning. Maybe you feel constantly on edge and your anxiety is making it hard to focus. Perhaps you and your partner are not as close as you were, or one of you has had an affair. You may be worried about how it might affect your children. It could be that you want to talk about being neurodiverse, or need support in deciding whether to have an assessment. I understand how overwhelming day-to-day life can be in an isolating world, particularly if you are also navigating conflict, trauma or loneliness. Beginning therapy for the first time or starting the process again with a new therapist can be daunting, and I am here to help make this process as gentle as possible. I am a genuine and open therapist who welcomes and accepts whoever you are now, as well as whoever you may have been in the past.
Practice description
Finding the right therapist who you feel a connection with is key to the healing process. I believe that no one can know you better than you know yourself, and this belief is reflected in my therapeutic approach. As a person-centred therapist, I will walk beside you in your therapeutic journey as you work through your issues at your own pace. I am not here to judge, preach or tell you what to do. Instead, I will listen with empathy, respect and unconditional acceptance, mindful of the need to encourage a compassionate and kind relationship with yourself. We will explore past and present feelings, emotions, behaviours and issues in a safe environment. This process encourages self-awareness and understanding, empowering you to grow, heal, and live your life in a way that feels authentic to you.
I have experience working with clients on a range of issues. My training has included counselling clients at a charity that supports people affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse, as well as relationship counselling at Relate. I have also volunteered as a coach at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre working with people affected by cancer, as well as their families and friends.
In addition to therapy, I offer personal and business coaching. I tailor the process to suit your individual needs, values and beliefs. Together we will establish goals and create a plan of action, and I will provide support in achieving them.
Qualifications
Masters degree in counselling and psychotherapy (Distinction)
Post graduate certificate in counselling
Qualified, insured and registered member of the BACP
My first session
The first session will be aimed at establishing what you want out of therapy, defining how we will work together and whether we will be a good fit.
