About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome to my page. I appreciate talking to someone can feel like a big step. My aim is for you to feel able to share what it means to be you in the world. To be comfortable enough to be able to bring all parts of yourself.

Life can be complicated and heavy and it can be rare to have a place where we can be truly honest. Rather than offering advice or guidance I want to be with you as you explore your experience in the world. I bring curiosity and acceptance with the aim of getting closer to understanding all of you. The Person Centred approach recognises we are all nuanced and understandable. Having someone we feel able to share our feelings with can help us to find an accepting relationship with ourselves. One where we have more freedom to be our true selves, without needing a facade.

Qualifications and Experience

I am a registered member of the BACP and am committed to their ethical framework. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Haulm, who specialise in the Person-Centred approach, and also have the Certificate of Proficiency from the BACP.

I have worked as a group facilitator in the public sector for over 20-years, working with people who’ve experienced challenges and trauma in their lives. I am trauma aware in my practice, where my aim is to develop a relationship which brings safety and offers freedom to listen to your own voice, and find your own way. I also worked as a Wellbeing Mentor at Varndean College for over 10 years, working one-to-one with students. I currently volunteer at As You Are, who offer low-cost counselling in Sussex.

I am committed to working inclusively, I want you to feel able to share your own experience of difference and to feel heard and empowered.
