About me and my therapy practice

I’m an experienced, warm, and compassionate counsellor based near Chester, Cheshire, offering both in-person and online nationwide sessions. I offer you a supportive space where you can safely explore your feelings, and experiences, past and present, and discover the solutions that work best for you.

It can be challenging to reach out to a therapist, especially if you’re unsure what the experience might involve. Perhaps you’re here because something significant has shifted in your life, and you’d like support in understanding your feelings around it. You may be dealing with something long-standing, seeking to come to terms with your life so far, or wanting to understand more about your responses and reactions.

I have experience working with a range of issues, from anxiety and depression to identity, family dynamics, relationships, and recovery from challenging life events. I am trauma-informed and have experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse and those dealing with bereavement following suicide.

My support extends to individuals who are navigating bereavement, including the passing of a beloved companion animal. (I am a registered member of the Association of Pet Bereavement Counsellors).

I work individually with young people from age 16 and adults of all ages,  for short or long-term support.

Practice description

Our relationship is very important and I work with empathy and compassion, and without judgment.

I am a trained person-centred counsellor.  I work in a way that is sensitive to your life experience and what you are experiencing. I work with you and what you need.

I have also had extensive therapy myself, which supports me to focus only on you in our work.

Like all therapists, I have supervision and engage in continuous training and personal development.

I can offer an in-person session for those in or near Chester, the room is bright, peaceful, and comfortable. There is plentiful free on-street parking.

I offer sessions for 50 minutes, usually at the same time every week. I believe it is important that sessions are weekly.

If we agree to work online, I use Zoom.

My first session

After you make contact with me, I will email and offer you an opportunity to meet me, this can be done via Zoom or by phone. I will call you on the number you provide or by video call at a mutually agreed time.
