About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Carrie and I provide psychotherapeutic counselling for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties for a range of reasons, for example, bereavement, trauma, and education. I enjoy using a range of creative interventions when working with young people. This could be in the form of clay, paint, drawing, imagery and sand tray, and tailor my approach to each client. Being a integrative counsellor I use a core model of transactional analysis, whilst also drawing upon person-centred and gestalt approaches to help young people explore their emotions, improve their emotional well-being, develop resilience and achieve their goals. I am passionate about supporting clients in a creative way to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
My first session
Prior to booking I offer an initial 15 minute phone call to talk through any relevant information prior to booking an assessment.
During our first meeting I will carry out an initial assessment that aims to gather appropriate information around life history, education, support structures and goals for the therapeutic work. This meeting will also give us the chance to see if we are the right fit for each other, as I believe this is a very important factor of successful therapy!
During our first sessions will make a contract together and discuss our rules for the therapeutic work. We will also talk about safe guarding, confidentiality and goals.
