About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Nicola Clark, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
By visiting here you have already taken the first step on your counselling journey. I hope my page explains how I can help you further and take the next step.
I have experience in a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, worry, work related stress, health issues, low self esteem, relationships and family issues. I have additional training and a particular interest in infertility & IVF, women’s health including endometriosis, adenomyosis and the menopause, pregnancy & infant loss and bereavement, loss & grief.
I have my own lived experiences of women’s health issues including endometriosis, adenomyosis, infertility and IVF. Along with this I have had significant losses in my life, all of which led me to seek therapy myself. I therefore understand the importance of choosing the right counsellor and how difficult it can be to make that first step.
I am a fully qualified & experienced Integrative Counsellor. My core model of practice is Person Centred Counselling with the option to integrate elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy and Transactional Analysis. This allows me to adapt how I work to meet the needs of each individual client.
Person Centred Counselling is a type of talking therapy which allows clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. By providing a safe and warm environment for my clients in time they can move towards the change they desire. I accept my clients for who they are and will listen and support in a non – judgmental way.
My skills and experience have also developed with the Volunteer work I carry out at Mental Health Therapies Wirral and Cruse Bereavement Wirral.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their code of ethics.
I am also an individual member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association).
Practice description
I offer face to face counselling sessions at Heswall Hills Counselling Centre on the Wirral. Face to face sessions are where we meet in person, normally weekly. The rooms at Heswall Hills Counselling Centre offer a private, warm and safe space. There is ample onsite parking which is free of charge.
Heswall Hills Counselling Centre welcomes people with limited mobility. There are accessible rooms available on the ground level of the building with a ramp and accessible toilet.
I also offer online and telephone counselling sessions, again normally weekly. Counselling sessions taking place online or via the telephone are secure and safe and allow me to offer sessions to clients nationwide.
All sessions are 50 minutes long, and I offer an initial free 20-minute informal chat via the telephone.
I work with adults and trainee counsellors and I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics. I am fully insured; I am a member of the Information Commissioners Office, and I am also DBS checked.
