About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Jenny, I work privately and as a volunteer counsellor within Age UK, Mental Health Therapies. I aim to provide a warm, friendly, non judgemental safe space for clients to examine any areas of their lives that they may be struggling with.
Just as we take care of our physical well-being, it is important to take care of our emotional well-being. Investing in your mental health can be one of the most positive things you can do for yourself. Therapy can open the door to greater self-awareness, better coping mechanisms, healthier relationships and rediscovery of meaning in your life.
Alongside being a counsellor, I have 20 years of experience working within the Criminal Justice System. My experience includes, but is not limited too, work with vulnerable adults, substance misuse, neurodiversity, abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety and loss. This also includes Adverse Childhood Experiences. I have experience of working with undiagnosed and late in life diagnosis of ADD/ADHD, Autism and other conditions under the neurodiverse umbrella.
The combination of my personal and work experiences has helped shape the person and counsellor I have become today, and my passion is to offer help and guidance to others. We are all human, and we are constantly learning, healing and evolving.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor which means I can work with various therapeutic approaches to support each of my individual clients’ preferences.
I work mainly in a person-centred way which places you at the heart of the process. I can integrate insightful self-reflective tools and resources that help you to understand yourself derived from TA (Transactional Analysis) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
Most importantly, I am here to listen to you, to understand and accept you, to empathise and support you through any issue or struggles you may be facing.
I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling to suit your needs.
