About me and my therapy practice
I know that it can take a lot for you to be here so I would like to begin by saying a big hello and a warm welcome.
I understand how it feels to be at a constant war with yourself, battling your inner critic and never feeling good enough. Second guessing your choices, never feeling satisfied, full of doubt, worry, and regret. You can feel so exhausted from always trying to hold it together that sometimes you begin to feel angry and stuck, not knowing how to move forward.
I see therapy as an opportunity for you to come home to yourself. To find who you truly are; your voice, and your identity. It's a place where you can explore your difficulties and tensions in life, your emotions and experiences, and begin to heal and grow.
It is possible to live a fulfilling life where you can improve your self-worth, stop seeking reassurance, and feel good enough. You deserve to finally find that inner peace you have long been chasing and I know that I would feel privileged for the opportunity to support you through it.
Practice description
I have had the fortunate pleasure of working with a variety of age ranges from 11 to 80 years old with people from all walks of life. I currently work with adults aged 18 and above, in person, online, or by telephone.
I incorporate training and experience in both the person-centred approach and attachment-based psychotherapy.
I specialise in high-functioning anxiety and have vast experience in helping people who:
- Want to let go of negative self-talk and low self-esteem
- Have experienced trauma, shame, or neglect in childhood
- Battle imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and/or burnout
- Feel overwhelmed with stress or fears of abandonment
- Have strained or unhealthy relationships
- Want to gain self-acceptance and overcome their insecurities
I genuinely believe that everyone deserves a safe space where they can feel validated and empowered. Where they can allow themselves to experience what it is like to be fully accepted without judgement and find a pathway forward.
I have a warm and down-to-earth approach to counselling. I understand how difficult it can be to begin therapy so I do my best to support you in feeling comfortable and at ease. I challenge you where appropriate to help you develop resilience, gain self-awareness, and identify patterns. I work collaboratively with my clients but ultimately I see you as the expert of your own life.
My first session
I believe that it is important for you to feel comfortable with your counsellor. I offer a free 20-minute consultation call, where we can work together to decide if we are a good match, with no pressure for you to commit to therapy. On the call, I explore what you would like to bring to counselling, your previous experience, your expectations, availability, and any questions you may have before booking your first session.
All sessions last for 50 minutes. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy (open-ended) which means that there is no set minimum or maximum number of counselling sessions.
