About me and my therapy practice
Hi my name is Sophie B O’Reilly and as a passionate person centred counsellor and BACP Individual Organisational member, my lived experience allows me to understand the best ways to address each client’s needs in a bespoke, client friendly manner.
I feel a one size fits all approach doesn't work.
Every human experience is unique to that person.
The main goal of my private practice is to support and offer a unique bespoke, flexible, trauma therapy service to survivors of PTSD or CPTSD.
Whether you have a formal diagnosis of CPTSD or PTSD or you are struggling with the impact of any trauma and the crippling symptoms of your experience.
I want to offer a safe and grounded space for you to work on what YOU want to work with in therapy.
True trauma informed therapy is hard to find and as a survivor myself I’m aware of how disappointing it can be that national services are very limited to minimal sessions.
I work with the acclaimed Judith Herman 3 stage model of
• Safety and stabilisation
• Remembrance and mourning
• Reconnection
I also use psycho educational practice to educate my clients to support themselves and give them a growing arsenal of tools to use in their future.
This could be through
• Visualisation therapy and Polyvagal practice – teaching about there nervous system and impact of the brain and body in Trauma.
• Breathe Work and Somatic anger release techniques – to stop or support panic attacks, disassociation and relieve body impact of being stuck in the freeze state.
• Dual awareness and compassioned focus therapy – to reconnect with life after a traumatic experience or just living with CPTSD /PTSD.
I’m very happy to offer blue light concessions and flexibility for shift workers in the NHS, Police, Service and Armed forces.
Please remember this is your journey, you are in control.
Practice description
I offer online and face to face counselling in the Surrey region.
My sessions starting cost - £65 per 50 minute session. I do offer concessions for Benefits entitled clients. I work Monday to Saturday, daytime and evening availability is possible.
I offer a 20 minute non obligation call or zoom so see if we can work together.
You’ll never know your full potential until you give yourself a chance.
I am a humanistic therapist so we will work together, this will be a partnership.
I am also a trauma informed therapist, with experience in CPTSD and trauma recovery.
Having a foundation in the NHS I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with a full diverse client range.
My first session
If after our introductory call or zoom and preliminary contract has been received and agreed (no obligation) we will have a first session to talk through our agreement of working together.
Every client agreement holds the BACP commitment to clients at its core.
We will discuss what your aims, expectations and goals if any you have any.
I offer open ended counselling as well as short solution focused therapy.
I will explain my limits and legal requirements as well as tell you how I work.
This is a time for questions and there are no silly questions here.
