About me and my therapy practice

As a Person-Centred counsellor, I work with an array of mental health issues. I have experience working with anxiety, loss and bereavement, depression, work-related issues, bullying, over-eating, life transitions, stress, abuse, self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence.

I have a particular focus in working with anxiety, of which the above noted issues might be driving the anxiety. My interest is to help bring clarity around what is causing the anxiety, whether it is past experiences, bereavement, unresolved emotions, or current stressors. Often, anxiety is fueled by underlying fears or beliefs that may not be immediately obvious.

Together, we can work to understand these deeper causes, helping you gain insight into your triggers. Through reflection, discussion, and practical coping strategies, we can address the root causes, enabling you to feel more in control and at peace with yourself.

I have walked through my own challenges in life, which gives me a deeper sense of understanding and empathy when supporting others. I have faced and overcome many of the same difficulties my clients bring to our sessions, bringing decades of personal experience to my practice. Therefore, I can genuinely relate and offer insights that come from a place of shared experience. This connection allows us to build a strong, trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood, and validated.

Reaching out for support takes courage. I am here to help make that first step a little easier for you. Let’s connect and talk about how we can work together to help you move toward a more fulfilling life. Feel free to send me a text, email, give me a call, or book a free consultation through my website—whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Practice description

I am trained in a Humanistic, person-centred modality. Put simply, this means I work in a personalised, open, and collaborative way with you, focusing on understanding your inner world. I pay close attention to what is important to you and help you explore—and possibly shift—your relationship with some of the invisible barriers that might be holding you back.

I work with adults aged 18+ in the UK who have a range of reasons for seeking counselling. If your particular reason for seeking counselling is not mentioned, please do get in touch to see whether I can support you.

I work remotely – online and via telephone, so counselling can be performed from the comfort and convenience of your home. The privacy of your own home is especially beneficial when emotional highs and lows are experienced.

My first session

Before we start counselling, there will be some admin to complete. I will send you a working agreement that outlines our responsibilities to each other, as well as an intake form where you can share your contact details and tell me more about the difficulties that have brought you to counselling. If you have questions at any stage, please do not hesitate to ask—I am here to help.

If you decide to go ahead with counselling, I will ask you to sign and return the contract, and payment will be due before we have our first session.

At our first session, I will find out what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve in more detail. Together, we will explore the key details to help shape a personalised path forward.

For many of my clients, this is the first time they have been able to openly talk about their struggles, which can be a deeply emotional experience. In the coming days, you may experience emotional highs and lows, this is normal and where continuing with counselling is important to achieve your desired changes further down the line.
