About me and my therapy practice

Life is full of challenges and sometimes we need extra support to help us move forward. You might have suffered a loss and are finding it hard to get over, or perhaps you are struggling to get out of bed each day and the things that used to make you happy no longer do so. You might be a parent whose child is refusing to go to school, showing signs of anxiety or struggling with emotional regulation. I can help you find a way to navigate through these difficulties.

I am passionate about building mental well-being and creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. My commitment to helping people includes adults and children, recognising the different needs and developmental stages of everyone. As a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I bring a personalised approach to help you, whether you are an adult, young person, or child.

I am a warm, empathic counsellor who can offer a secure, non-judgmental space to explore any issues you might be facing together. I will take time to explore and understand what you may wish to gain from counselling and together we will discuss your hopes and aspirations. I offer a tailored approach for each client, endeavouring to understand your perspective and needs. Through our relationship, we can examine what has contributed to you seeking help.

I work online and face-to-face, offering short and long-term therapy.

Practice description

My integrative approach integrates different theories and practices creating a holistic approach to helping people. It incorporates:

Psychodynamic counselling: exploring how our early lives can affect us and how those early experiences determine our way of being in later life.

Person-centred counselling: how we all have the innate ability and desire to grow and achieve our potential and how obstructions to these drives can cause us unhappiness and distress.

It also includes an understanding of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and how our thinking can affect our behaviours.

My first session

Choosing a counsellor is a very personal choice. My first session will be a phone call to explore if we feel we can work together. From there, we would arrange to meet face-to-face, or online, to discuss what has brought you to seek therapy and what you might want to achieve from it.
