I offer online so you can access counselling from your phone, tablet or laptop from home. I'm happy for you to bring baby along to sessions as I understand having to juggle childcare as a mum myself
My current availability is Mondays and Fridays
About me and my therapy practice
I work online and telephone and have a room on a Monday morning in North Shields
Pregnancy and the early years of motherhood can be so difficult. It can be overwhelming, stressful and busy. Some days you just don’t know which way to turn and barely have time for a hot cuppa or anything else for yourself. Add to that the stress of everyday life, comparing yourself to others, body image during or after pregnancy, relationships and anything else that gets added to the life jar, it can feel despairing. Through professional and lived experience, I’ve helped many mums navigate the tricky path and have some breathing space to grow and achieve their desired outcome.
I find us mums have a habit of putting ourselves last however that only leads to burn out, resentment and exhaustion. I am passionate about supporting mums who are struggling in their pregnancy or after the birth of their child feeling not good enough, anxious, depressed & burnt out. I also have an interest in supporting mums through Hyperemesis Gravidarum and nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. I have also worked with clients who have emetophobia. I have personally been through 2 HG pregnancies so understand how debilitating and isolating it is.
I understand how challenging becoming/being a mum can be. I also understand it can be hard to reach out for support. I offer you compassion, validation and empathy at this time of your life. This is your time to be heard, accepted and understood with no interruption or judgement. If you are ready to start feeling better in motherhood, please do reach out.
Practice description
I work with Mums and mums-to-be who want to explore their emotions with someone who knows how it feels. As a parent myself, and someone who has had two difficult pregnancies, I really do understand how it feels for it not to be the way you expected. You end up grieving all the things you envisioned for yourself and didn’t get to have, you may even feel shame. I can support you through this grief, shame and any other feelings that you have around your experience. I have been where you are now and I truly believe healing is possible when you're a parent. You can now start to enjoy motherhood again. My first session
So what’s next? If this sounds good, drop me an Email and I can arrange a 20 minute telephone call with you. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and see if I am the right counsellor for you. If you choose to go ahead with the sessions, I will send over the contract via email which has a link to the online platform I use for the therapy. Once you clink the link, it will bring you to a virtual waiting room where I will start the call from my end. In our first session I will ask you a few questions such as an emergency contact details and your goals for therapy. The first session is a good opportunity to gather information about what is going on for you and how best I can support you.

I find most mums that I work with want to be heard and validated. Due to the way I work being person centred, I find this really helps mums work through their feelings where they are given a safe and supportive space to bring whatever they feel they want to work on. I also have found mindfulness beneficial to clients however I will always check in with you as I understand one size doesn’t fit all.
