About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Esmay and I'm a qualified (BACP registered) counsellor, working in a person-centred way. We all have times in life where things become confusing or challenging and this can sometimes lead to a feeling of being alone and a sense that nobody around you really understands what you are experiencing.
This is when therapy can help you to feel heard, better understand what's happening in your relationships and support you in moving towards positive change in a way that suits you.
You may be tired of feeling lost, depressed, anxious, worthless, ashamed, overwhelmed or angry. Something could have happened in your life which has left you feeling stuck or unsure about how to move forward. Sometimes you just need someone who really hears you without judgement or criticism, so that you can find your way through difficulties in life.
The therapy I offer is warm, confidential and you can be sure that I will really listen, to support you in tackling the issues that are making life difficult for you.
By allowing you time to pause and explore what is going on in your head we can work together to make sense of where you are now. With acceptance and compassion, I can help you to explore how you reached this point and support you to feel empowered in living life the way you choose to live it.
Practice description
I am a trauma informed counsellor working in a person-centred way. This means that I will offer you a warm, confidential, reflective space where you are able to safely explore any issues you are experiencing.
Whatever you would like to bring, we can work through your thoughts and feelings together, to make sense of where you are now and reflect on any changes you would like to make.
Sessions are your time and will move at a pace that you are comfortable with. I am a calm, compassionate and attentive practitioner who will provide you with a space to pause and explore, so that you are able to find a way forward.
My first session
I offer a free introductory phone call, should you have any questions about counselling with me. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you are looking to gain from therapy and to see if you would like to work together.
It's so important to find a counsellor who you feel you can trust and open up with and this allows you to gain a sense of this without any obligation to continue.
I have use of two private and secure rooms in HD3 and HD7, easily accessible by public transport or car.
