About me and my therapy practice
I have extensive experience in working therapeutically with adults across all life stages, particularly those who are experiencing stress, overwhelm and burnout. In the face of life’s changes and challenges you may find yourself stuck and in need of a reset. I aim to provide a relaxed, calm and restorative space, to help you pause, reflect and work things through.
I am dual qualified as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist, registered with the BACP as well as an accredited executive coach and qualified coaching supervisor. This means I draw on a range of therapeutic methods uniquely tailored towards your needs. I centre this around building a secure, collaborative and trusted therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide the conditions where you may safely process what is going on for you. This often involves giving attention to your needs, your needs in relationship, and in time, you finding a clearer path forward in life.
I have considerable experience in the corporate world, having spent the last 15 years working with business leaders as an executive coach. I typically work with coaching clients in a corporate environment on their leadership, well-being and resilience, enabling them to find a more sustainable work life balance, including navigating workplace pressures, organisational dynamics and difficult relationships. I integrate my coaching experience into my counselling approach.
I am a volunteer counsellor with the The Fountain Centre in Guildford. This is a charity which provides a range of holistic services for those impacted by a cancer diagnosis, either themselves or a loved one. I have experience in working with loss, bereavement and all that is triggered by life changing moments.
I have worked as a volunteer counsellor with children at a primary school through the Place2Be charity. I have experience in working therapeutically with adults in their role as a parent to children, teenagers and young adults.
Practice description
My clients typically find me warm, genuine and accepting, while keeping focus on their therapeutic goals.
I am experienced in working across a range of general issues including: loss and life transitions; life limiting illness; anxiety; depression; stress/burnout low self esteem.
I will listen, support and challenge you, and will work with you to shape the therapeutic process to follow your needs. Typically there is no easy quick fix to what is going on for you...if there was you would have likely found a way through already. In time however, I find that processing complex and conflicting emotions in a relaxed environment with a trusted professional can help in gaining insight , perspective and greater clarity going forward.
My first session
I am happy to offer a free 30 minute call or zoom to chat through what you're looking for in a therapist, and to see if we, and my approach, will be a good fit.
The first session will be at my usual rate of £60 for 50 minutes and will include assessment, contracting and agreeing how we might work together going forward.
