About me and my therapy practice

I understand that life can at times feel overwhelming, challenges can seem stressful and anxiety can build. I believe that counselling can help you to understand why you think, feel and act the way you do. Counselling can help you to find a route to change, acceptance or personal growth. However each reason for seeking counselling is different, and I will be guided by what you bring to work collaboratively with you.

I qualified as an Integrative Counsellor in November 2023 following 4 years training. During placement I built up extensive experience of supporting people with a wide range of emotional needs. I continue this work in my current therapy practice.

Before qualifying as an Integrative counsellor I worked in sales within the rural community and gained a vast experience of all this entailed. I now work in the charity sector part time, where I gained experience of setting up and facilitating therapy groups supporting people who are bereaved.

In my counselling practice I use a blend of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT counselling styles to listen empathically to you and provide space for you to talk.

Practice description

The sessions that I offer are client led, meaning that I will listen to what you bring in a non-judgmental way to offer you a confidential space to talk and explore where you are at. The counselling styles I use in the session will help to gently navigate thoughts, emotions and behaviours that might be unhelpful or holding you back.

I offer walk and talk therapy as well as face to face therapy. I also offer to work with you creatively to bring in your own creativity as a way to enable you to access your emotional process, should you wish to explore this way of working.

I believe finding the right therapist for you is incredibly important, being able to sit with someone you feel comfortable with whilst you focus on your personal development is essential.

My first session

offer an initial 20 minute initial telephone consultation at no charge, so you can get a feel for how it is for us to talk together.

Following our phone call if you decide you would like to work with me, we will agree on a mutually convenient time and day to meet.

During the first session I will complete an initial therapy form with you, so you can talk to me about your hopes for your therapy.

I also offer a blank copy of the counselling contract for you to take away and read so that you know what to expect from the boundaries of our therapy sessions.
