I currently have availability for online or face to face counselling weekday & evenings Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday & Saturday daytime.
I also offer walk and talk style therapy sessions in the daytime.
I am based in Colchester, CO1 for face to face, online, telephone and walk & talk therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
I understand that life can at times feel overwhelming for a variety of reasons.
What has led you to seeking counselling is unique, I will be guided by what you bring to work collaboratively with you.
Counselling can help you understand why you think, feel and act the way you do.
In therapy with time and space it is possible for you to find a route to change, acceptance or personal growth.
In my counselling practice I offer a non-judgemental space. I use a blend of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT counselling styles to listen empathically to you and provide space for you to talk.
I qualified as an Integrative Counsellor following 4 years of training. During placement I built up extensive experience of supporting people with a wide range of emotional needs. I continue this work in my current therapy.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I gained a wide knowledge of working with different people from different backgrounds and life circumstances either in the commercial world of work or more recently working in the charity sector.
I have facilitated face to face and walking groups, supporting people with bereavement. I have experience of supporting people facing terminal prognosis at end of life. As well as having lived experience of sudden bereavement and how that impacted my life and eventually led me to begin my studies to become a counsellor.
What these experiences have taught me is the reasons for wanting support is varied.

Practice description
The sessions that I offer are client led, meaning that I will listen to what you bring in a non-judgmental way to offer you a confidential space to talk and explore where you are at. The counselling styles I use in the session will help to gently navigate thoughts, emotions and behaviours that might be unhelpful or holding you back.

I believe finding the right therapist for you is incredibly important, being able to sit with someone you feel comfortable with whilst you focus on your personal development is essential.
My first session
I offer an initial telephone consultation at no charge, so you can get a feel for how it is for us to talk together.
Following our phone call if you decide you would like to work with me, we will agree on a mutually convenient time and day to meet.
During the first session I will complete an initial therapy form with you, so you can talk to me about your hopes for your therapy.
I also offer a blank copy of the counselling contract for you to take away and read so that you know what to expect from the boundaries of our therapy sessions.
