Practice description
How it works
To start with we will have a phone/Zoom call to meet each other. We will talk through your reasons for seeking therapy or counselling now and I can answer any questions you have. There is no charge and no obligation for this initial chat. You will get a feel of whether counselling feels right for you. After that you can go away and decide in your own time if you would like to go ahead together.
Working together
Once we agree we will have some sessions we will have a chat and agree the terms that we will move forward with. This will include the time, place, duration, frequency, and payment terms of the therapy sessions. We will agree whether the sessions will be via Zoom or Face to Face in Gerrards Cross / Chalfont St Peter.
There are no minimum or fixed number of sessions – some clients are only seeking a few sessions to work through a specific challenge while others need longer. Some issues can be more complex and some require time before clients feel they can disclose a traumatic experience.
We will review progress and how you're feeling about the counselling every six-ten weeks to ensure that your needs and objectives are being met.
My first session
The initial session will be an introductory session and I will take a bit of background from you and understand your story and what brings you to therapy. We will discuss the boundaries of the sessions including confidentiality, frequency of the sessions, cost and payment. We will complete the assessment forms together together and I will provide a contract for us both to agree. Together we will work out the right way forward for your sessions.
