Hello and Welcome
I work in person from a comfortable, relaxing and private room in Berwick upon Tweed.
I work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I also work evenings and occasionally I work on a Saturday. I am more than happy to talk with you to discuss your needs.
I also offer telephone and online counselling.
About me and my therapy practice
It can be difficult and often daunting sometimes to reach out for help. I can provide you with calm reassurance that I understand this, and importantly, I will listen to you.
I have a Diploma in Counselling and have gained valuable experience over several years working in the charitable third sector. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP).
I hold a certificate in online and telephone counselling, approved by ACTO, (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).
Practice description
I work non-judgementally, in an integrative humanistic way, with a person-centred approach. I am compassionate, kind, and empathic.
I feel the therapeutic relationship is important for therapy to begin to be successful.
My work with individuals, groups and parents/carers has equipped me with important experience that was invaluable in helping me understand that no matter where you are in life, you can often feel stressed, overwhelmed, lost, anxious, depressed and more. Sometimes it can be difficult to even put into words how you feel. I can help you explore any issues you having and we can work together to help you make the changes you would like to in your life.
I work in an integrative way, meaning I can draw from different counselling models and theories including humanistic, for example, person centred, cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic. This helps to tailor my approach to each individual's personal needs. We are all unique and no one single approach will hold the answers to our problems.
I offer in person counselling, and online and telephone counselling.
My first session
I offer an initial free 15 to 20 minute telephone consultation which gives us an opportunity to talk about what you would like from counselling, and ask me any questions, and for me to explain a little bit about the process.
Then our first session is a chance for us to meet, and for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me, and for you ask me any further questions.
