Availability
I currently have limited availability across my practice rooms in Cheltenham (Gloucestershire) and Richmond upon Thames (London). I have more flexibility with online/remote work. There is an option to register on my waiting list. I work Mondays to Fridays with some Saturdays.
As well as weekly sessions, I offer alternative , more intense therapy for couples, (usually 5 hours on a Saturday).
I offer introductory sessions throughout the week. These sessions are for us to talk through why you feel you may be ready for therapy and to work out the best way forward for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist/Counsellor and a Supervisor for Counsellors. I clinically trained under the British Psychoanalytical Council and am a registered Member of the BACP. I am also qualified to work remotely online and via the telephone.
I work individually and in groups, with adults, couples, teenagers and children (12 plus) and have over 30 years of experience with the latter in various positions. I currently work privately and also volunteer with a local children's counselling service. My work is either in person (face to face) or remote-online or via telephone.
I have realised how important early years are in life and therefore, I offer sessions with expecting or new parents, to enable us to think together around how their own early experiences may impact their new family dynamic. These session are for 3 hours and usually held on a Friday/Saturday.
My work with couples may be weekly and/or I offer a more intense session where I offer a 5 hour session, where I see a couple both together and individually in one day.
Practice description
I work in London (Richmond upon Thames) and in Cheltenham. I also work from the comfort of your own home through an online platform (ZOOM).
I provide a welcome, safe, confidential and supportive space.
Anything you may find difficult to say, I will not find difficult to hear.
We will work together to unravel where you are now and how you may have got there. By sharing this, we can find a space to really think about what's going on for you and to see if we are able to find a healthier, happier way of moving forward.
Whether working with adults, couples or children (12 plus), gaining trust is something I will do my best to work towards and earn.
My individual sessions are usually open ended, weekly and 50 minutes in length (couples sessions are 60 minutes). However, I also offer time limited and one off seasons (where appropriate and if there is availability). Some couples choose to see me for an intensive 5 hour (inclusive of breaks), in one day.
My first session
For individuals, once you make contact, an Introductory Session will be booked in. During this session we will take time to think about your needs and if I am the right therapist for you. This will give you a better idea of how psychodynamic psychotherapy/counselling works. It's also important that you feel able to be with me and for us to be able to think together.
After this introduction,, we will make a plan that works best for you.
With Couples, we have a brief 15 minute telephone call if required, before booking a first session. After an initial session together, I see each client separately before meeting together again in session four. Some couples, choose to book a five hour slot (with breaks), as a way of beginning their therapy journey.

I have availability for online supervision (UK and International)

About me and my therapy practice
I provide a warm, supportive space, where a trusting relationship can develop. I am a Psychodynamic Therapist and Counselling Supervisor. My core training was accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council and I am a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Although my Supervisor role will be underpinned with my Psychodynamic modality, I respect and encourage my Supervisees to work within their own modalities.
My Supervision session lengths will vary depending on my Supervisee's needs and (if in training), their course requirements.
I ensure that both myself and my Supervisees are up to date with safeguarding regulations and any other appropriate training that may be needed, (dependant on caseload).
I offer space for any urgent support required between sessions.
Practice description
I offer Supervision sessions for Individuals and for small Groups.
I work within the BACP code of ethics and guidelines. You can see me as your private Supervisor or as a part of a Supervision (small) group.
I use unconscious process to inform my practice and we will spend time thinking about projections and the role of transference. My belief is that the most useful Supervision has space for constructive challenge, but also for creativity and mindful play.
My experience is working with adults and children, (12 plus) and I am able to support neurodiversity with my Supervisees and with their neurodiverse clients.
I am calm and considered and offer a containing, warm welcoming space for the Supervisees I work with. We will be working together and my aim is for you to feel safe and trust that I will work in the best interests of both yourself and your clients.
My first session
In our first session, I will be finding out a bit about you, your working week and your caseload and availability. This initial overview will help me hold and support you.
We will think about your requirements for Supervision and this will lead to whether I am the right Supervisor for you. I will not work beyond my level of competency and if I am not able to Supervise your caseload,, we will have time to try and explore where you may find the support you need.
We will look in depth at your client list and you will be able to share with me how you work. If we need more time in this first session, I will make sure there is a buffer to allow for this.
I want your first experience of working with me to be positive and for you to experience feeling held and supported.
