About me and my therapy practice
Warmth, empathy, understanding and a sense of humour are key skills in the field of psychotherapeutic counselling and if you were to ask those close to me I’m pretty sure they would say I have them all. That said they come from a genuine place of compassion as I am able to bring true empathy into my work due to my own personal journey and struggles.Self-awareness and self-compassion are the key areas that I focus on in my practice. Clients come to me for many reasons whether bereavement, which can take many forms including the loss of a loved one, loss of health, dreams, a career, and identity or if they are feeling stuck in life which can cause anxiety or feelings of hopelessness.
Practice description
Life can unexpectedly cause confusion, anxiety, feelings of being stuck and even a sense of 'who am I'? If this sounds familiar and you'd like to find a new path through all the noise then maybe I can help.
We would work together to build a trusting, non-judgemental relationship in a space that is comfortable and affirming. Together we would explore and understand the confusion and find new ways of being, thinking and feeling so that you become your greatest advocate. Despite how you may feel currently you know yourself the best and we would work together to forge a new 'normal' with some clearer direction for the future.
My hope is for clients to become unashamedly themselves as I believe this is when life becomes easier. To be able to say ‘I am enough’ is just the beginning.
My first session
On initial contact I offer a short free phone call for us to have a chat about your reasons for getting in touch and for you to decide if I can help you.
In our first session we would be looking at goals and expectations from therapy and I would gather some personal details from you. Our working relationship would be discussed in order for you to feel completely safe and secure in our therapeutic relationship. This process is all very relaxed and nothing to worry about.
