About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced therapist and enjoy working with clients to better understand their issues and help them work towards a more positive and fulfilled life. By offering a safe and non-judgemental space, I promise to listen and to treat you and your feelings with the utmost respect. I will help you to make sense of things and support you by helping you to address complex feelings and emotions or finding ways to make peace and live with them.

By helping you to recognise the changes and developments you will make in therapy, we will work together to find solutions to problems. You will explore your feelings, increase your self-awareness and develop new coping techniques.

Practice description

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice. I have worked for charitable organisations and with individual clients. I am very much at home working with / have extensive experience of clients in, the LGBTQ+ community.

I work in what's called an 'integrative' way, which means that I draw on different aspects of different modalities of therapy and will use these and tailor them to best fit each individual client.

Equally, I have nearly two decades experience of working with young adults in educational settings and am at ease working with young clients. I also have extensive experience of working in the performing arts and understand the particular pressures that clients in this sector might experience.

I can provide numerous client testimonials.

My first session

Once we have spoken on the phone, we will establish a 30 minute introductory session.  This can be in person or online; the choice is yours and it's what makes you feel most at ease.  I will outline the type of therapy available and discuss how we can work together in more detail.  It's a chance for us to get to know one another a little better.  We will also use the remainder of the session time for you to explain what has prompted you to look for therapy or try to outline the issues you are feeling or working with.  Don't worry about this; it's not an interrogation and you might not be sure why you're feeling 'off-centre.'  It's also a chance for you to ask any questions that you might have.  Assuming all of this goes well, we will then schedule our first full (50 minute) session.
