About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative therapist, my approach is rooted in the understanding that every individual is unique, and therapy should reflect that individuality. I draw from a range of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Body Psychotherapy, to tailor our work to your specific needs, preferences, and goals. This flexibility allows us to work on the challenges you’re facing in a way that feels both comfortable and effective for you.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to creating a warm, safe, and supportive space where you feel truly seen, heard, and respected. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, so my aim is to offer a confidential, non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Whether you are navigating issues related to relationships, identity, sexuality, gender, or working through feelings of shame or low self-esteem, my goal is to help you uncover deeper self-awareness, develop new perspectives, and empower you to make meaningful changes in your life.
For many, therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles but also about understanding oneself more deeply and growing in confidence. Together, we will explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be impacting your well-being, helping you to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
As someone who is LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiverse-friendly, I value the diversity that makes each person unique and am committed to providing an inclusive and affirming therapeutic space. I understand the importance of being able to bring your whole self to therapy without fear of judgement, and I strive to ensure that this space reflects that commitment.
Whether you are seeking support with personal challenges, exploring your identity, or working toward personal growth, I am here to support you in your journey.
Practice description
If we decide to work together, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I see our relationship as central to the work we do. By building an honest, trusting and open connection, we create a strong foundation that allows for deep exploration, discovery and genuine growth. I will always approach our work with empathy, understanding, and support, but I will also introduce gentle challenges when appropriate, to help you overcome barriers and discover new possibilities.
My practice is rooted in a relational approach, which means that the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a valuable tool for self-discovery and change. Together, we will explore patterns in your relationships, past and present, and consider how these might be impacting current experiences. This can be particularly helpful in navigating challenges related to identity, sexuality, gender, and relationships.
For clients grappling with issues such as stress, anxiety, self-esteem, or feelings of shame, I aim to provide a space where you feel truly seen and understood. Therapy with me is about more than solving problems; it’s about fostering self-awareness, building resilience, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are and your values. While therapy can be challenging at times, it’s also a space for empowerment, growth, and meaningful change.
I offer weekly sessions, usually at the same time and day each week. However, I understand that flexibility may sometimes be necessary, and I am happy to discuss and adjust scheduling on an individual basis to best accommodate your needs.
My first session
I offer a free 15-30 minute video/phone consultation, where you can share any current challenges or specific issues you may want to work on in therapy, and what you hope to achieve from the process. During this call, I’ll explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. This call is an opportunity for us to assess whether we’re a good fit to work together.
If we agree to proceed, and you feel comfortable, we can schedule the first session. This first session builds upon our initial conversation and offers time to explore more about who you are, what has brought you to therapy, and key life experiences. This session will be guided by curiosity and compassion, not rigid questioning, helping us to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
During this first session, I’ll gather and record some pertinent information, such as your name, address, and other contact details, to ensure accurate records and proper care moving forward. Additionally, I’ll review important aspects such as confidentiality, safeguarding protocols, and any reporting obligations, ensuring transparency, clarity, and comfort as we begin our therapeutic journey. My goal is for you to leave this session feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to take the next steps in your therapeutic journey.
