About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling worried, anxious or overwhelmed?

Therapy will help you to get to the root and reasons and help you to regain a sense of who you are.

You might have had new realisations about yourself or someone else, be feeling that your needs have changed or you've lost a sense of self, purpose, or relationship.

Maybe you can’t quite catch parts of yourself that now feel lost and are wondering how to embrace the changes and challenges of your experience?

You’re overwhelmed, burnt out and just need to breathe again

I help adults and young people who are facing:

• Anxiety, panic attacks or emotional swings that seem to happen without warning e.g. stress/menopause/divorce, ADHD & menopause, work, education or relationship stresses

• Feeling disconnected from your sense of self and questioning your identity, e.g. late diagnosed neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+/ transition/change

• Shifts in relationships, whether family friends or partners e.g. loss/abuse

• A loss of purpose or direction, unsure of what comes next, e.g. entrepreneurial creative block/high achiever/spiritual crisis

• Overwhelm and burnout as you try to navigate putting yourself first e.g. AuDHD burnout/people-pleasing/high-achiever

What can therapy help you achieve?

I can help you find clarity and calm -

When anxiety and emotional upheaval seem to have taken over, I’ll work with you to find grounding

...connect to your truth and voice - no longer making excuses or sabotaging yourself for fear of others’ responses.

…explore past and present experiences

I understand that you want to find someone who is going to be able to hear your whole story and how you are experiencing life in the present.

…rediscover your needs and your purpose

If you’re feeling unsure of what comes next, we'll explore what gives you meaning now and how you can embrace new opportunities

…support healthy relationships

As your needs and priorities shift, I’ll help you to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships that reflect the person you’re becoming

Practice description

If there has come a point where you’re having to make big changes to areas of your life that seemed to be working, up until now, it can feel daunting and scary

I understand the effects on all aspects of life caused by sudden relational, physical, emotional and spiritual changes

I can support you to step forward slowly

We can re-examine your life and affirm your strengths and qualities that may have been misunderstood and address unresolved traumas or recent conflicts that hold you back from fulfilling new opportunities or old dreams

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is Humanistic and Person-Centered, using talking therapy and person- centered expressive arts therapy, to help you navigate the challenges. Whether through talking therapy, creative materials, time in nature or  meditation & mindfulness, these methods offer a deeper way to process and heal. In therapy with me, you will find a real human being who has lived through challenges in different life stages

Online

I'm trained to offer secure online counselling for all UK residents. The same approach as in-person, my compassionate, person-centred support also assists those with social anxiety

In-Person

In my garden studio, you’ll have a safe and nurturing space to explore your feelings and reconnect with yourself. I offer a brave, safe space, grounded in trust

Walk and Talk

I'm trained in outdoor sessions, to connect to and immerse in all that nature has to offer your individual issues

Person-Centered Expressive Arts Therapy

I'm trained in both online and in-person, person-centered expressive arts therapy. This model aids a deeper connection to self. Through different mediums, sand tray therapy or meditation, it helps to gain new insight and acknowledge and release emotions

Therapy Groups

When life feels chaotic, it can be difficult to recognise what you're feeling. I facilitate spaces to reconnect with your inner compass within a supportive group, to foster social connections within small groups

My first session

No matter where you are on your journey, I'm here to support you in finding peace, clarity, and calm and renewed strength with an inner grounding that will serve you going forward

What’s the first step?

The first step is reaching out to book an initial session.

Here's how it works:

Initial Contact

Get in touch with me to arrange your first session  ...

by email to amanda@natureandsoul.co.uk

or via my website https://www.natureandsoul.co.uk

It is helpful to come with some ideas of what you want to talk about and any questions you have and what you want to get from counselling at this time. There will be some online form completion to do prior to your first session.

Online clients - I work on a secure platform and offer the same service and confidential online space as working in-person. We can even do creative counselling online.

In-person clients - I send you details of where to meet for your first session, on receipt of payment.

The initial session is for you to tell your story and to work together to set intentions for your counselling sessions. The focus is on your individual needs and establishing the therapeutic relationship of trust and ways we can work together for your best outcome. I recommend at least 8 to 12 sessions with regular reviews, to get the most out of your counselling progress.
