About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Lisa and I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer you a supportive and non-judgemental place to discuss what has brought you to therapy, so that you can start to work towards making progress with your goals. I have a long history of working with people as a psychologist before I became a counsellor, and have experience with many different client groups. This includes issues such as anxiety and depression, older adults with and without dementia, trauma, bereavement, relationship issues, complex mental health conditions, neurodiversity and issues around LGBTQ+.
As a person-centred therapist I believe that the key to making changes is inherent within us, but it can take some time to explore any issues before it can be identified. For this reason, we will work together as a partnership, rather than me simply telling you what to do and how to feel. This way, you are able to be your authentic self whilst we work together and make progress with your goals.
The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.
Practice description
It can feel very daunting to begin to talk about what is causing you difficulties, especially to a stranger. However, it is my own experiences with mental illness that have driven me to train and practice as a counsellor, so I will do everything I can to make you feel comfortable if you choose to start your journey with me. I understand what it is like to struggle, to try to make sense of how you feel, and decide where to go from there.
This journey can begin straight away, with just one small step. Contact me to arrange a free 20 minute no-obligation session to explore how we would work together.
