About me and my therapy practice
Hey there, I get it – sifting through therapist profiles can be a bit of a maze, so I’ll try my best to keep this simple. I'm a qualified counsellor who's worn a few different hats in the field of well-being. I worked in the corporate world of occupational health for over 5 years, I’ve worked for charities, and now I'm here as a private therapist.
My approach is friendly, and down-to-earth. Yes, I’m a therapist, but I am, first and foremost, a fellow human being. I've faced my own life's challenges, and I understand the vulnerability that comes with seeking help. Life can throw us some curveballs, and I'm here to help you navigate them.
Practice description
I will tailor the sessions to your individual needs, but one thing is a given - I’ll provide you with a private and judgment-free space to talk about whatever's on your mind. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, bereavement, or something completely different. You may not know what is wrong at this point; sometimes it is more of a feeling that something isn’t quite right. This is something that we can work through together, exploring your feelings to work out what is going on inside. It may be that you require a more practical approach, and in this case, I can offer strategies to deal with issues like worry, overthinking, lousy sleep, and low motivation. We'll work together to bring about some positive changes in your life.
I also offer therapeutic coaching, which combines aspects of counselling and coaching to help you set and achieve your personal and professional goals. It provides a structured, goal-oriented approach to self-improvement, helping you gain clarity, build resilience, and develop practical skills to navigate life's challenges effectively. This is more suitable if you don’t feel you are experiencing any issues with your mental health but want to use the sessions as a space for self-development.
My first session
I understand how daunting it can be to reach out and get support, and that it can feel unfamiliar if you are more used to being there for others. I therefore try to make this process as easy as possible. I offer a free 15 minute introductory call - a chance for us to have an initial chat, and for you to get a feel for whether you would like to work with me.
