About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling stuck, lost, helpless, numb, disconnected? Want to strengthen your mind? Do you want to gain clarity? Noticing an increase in feeling angry, anxious, or stressed? Have you experienced a loss? Struggling with identity? Wanting to improve the relationship you have with yourself and/or relationships with others? The latter are just some of the things I can help you with.
I am a professional, warm, down-to-earth psychotherapist who is passionate about helping my clients overcome the challenges they have experienced or are experiencing in their lives. Nothing is too small or too big for my therapy room.
I am a fully qualified BACP integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, trained to use a number of different therapeutic approaches within my practice to help you meet your therapeutic goals. As a psychotherapist, I aim to facilitate a space to help you help yourself by using my professional skills and building a supportive, genuine, therapeutic relationship.
I can offer you a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to explore, understand and navigate a wide range of emotional difficulties and concerns. I aim to offer you a space to express and explore your true emotions and vulnerabilities, a space to be your true, authentic self without being afraid of judgment. This will allow us to work collaboratively to meet your needs and goals.
I have a master's in psychotherapy and counselling; however, I continue as a lifelong learner to ensure my practice and skills remain at a high level. I have experience with a diverse range of clients and ages, as well as previous volunteering experience within charities such as Improving Lives, Place2be and Mind. Alongside my practice, I work part-time as a school project manager, helping children and young people receive therapeutic and emotional support. I also supervise trainee counsellors.
Practice description
I believe we all have a story that shapes our journey in life, who we are and how we see ourselves and others. By understanding our stories, we can understand ourselves more by increasing self-awareness and understanding triggers. I also believe that we are all uniquely different and so will experience life and events differently. As an integrative therapist, I am trained to use several different therapeutic approaches and techniques to help my clients: my training and skills allow me to tailor your sessions to meet your unique needs best.
As a psychotherapist, I understand the courage and difficulty of starting therapy, so the sessions will always go at your pace. Our sessions will be directed by you, allowing your sessions to focus on the areas and topics you feel are most important, as I believe you are the expert on your experiences. My aim is to facilitate you in using therapy to understand and explore those experiences and feelings. I also understand that, at times, it can be challenging to know how you are truly feeling - we can work together to locate, name, and understand those unknown feelings.
My private practice is predominantly talking therapy. However, there may be times when I suggest using different creative techniques during our sessions. It is your choice whether you wish to engage in my suggestions.
The duration of therapy varies per client, and I offer short and long-term face-to-face sessions. Each session will be 50 minutes long. I offer weekly and biweekly sessions. For long-term clients, drop-in sessions are available as and when needed.

My first session
Starting therapy can initiate mixed feelings and emotions. My aim is to make your first session feel as comfortable as possible, where the session will go at your pace. The first session is a great opportunity to talk about what's brought you to therapy, whilst also getting comfortable talking to a new therapist.
Our first session will differ from other sessions, as I will briefly go through the counselling contract and ask if you have any questions about the agreement, which will be sent to you before the session. I may also ask a few questions to help me better understand what's brought you to therapy and whether you have any goals or expectations. But, most of the session will be you talking about what has been on your mind.
Seeking therapy can be challenging and extremely daunting, but it's important to acknowledge this first step you have taken. It is also essential to find the right therapist for you, which is why I offer a free 20-minute telephone call. The call will give you a chance to ask questions and gain an understanding of what I can help you with, as well as what to expect.
If you have any questions or want to book a free 20-minute telephone call, please do not hesitate to text, or email me. To protect your privacy, I will only return missed phone calls if a voice message is left. I will consider your voice message as consent to contact you back.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
