About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Tom, an integrative psychotherapist. I use a range of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy to help you manage mental health challenges like anxiety and depression.
Mental health affects all of us, and I truly believe therapy can be a powerful way to improve your situation and help you live the life you choose, rather than feeling stuck in one you don’t.
I’m naturally a warm, supportive person, and one of my top priorities is building a relationship where you feel safe and open to explore.
I also believe that lasting change requires action. The work we do together in therapy is important, but what you do outside of our sessions is just as crucial. We’re working towards new ways of thinking and shifting unhelpful patterns of behaviour. To make this possible, it’s essential you feel understood and validated for who you are, and I aim to build the trust needed to create that space.
Practice description
To provide therapy in the simplest and most effective way, I’ve created an online platform called Youlio. Built around 1:1 therapy with me, Youlio manages all our sessions and allows me to send you readings, questionnaires, activities, and messages, as well as track your mental health progress between sessions.
By keeping everything in one private, safe space, we have the freedom to explore your situation while maintaining structure around your therapy goals.
I offer a range of solutions to fit different needs, including weekly therapy, mental health programs, and one-off mental wellbeing MOTs.
Here’s a general outline of what to expect from our therapy journey, which usually consists of four stages:
1. What does life currently look like? This is where we get to know you and your current situation.
2. What do you want it to look like? We’ll explore your overall aims and goals for therapy.
3. How will we get there? Together, we’ll create a plan of action to achieve your goals.
4. Making it happen. We’ll work towards creating a happier, healthier life for you.
My aim with Youlio is to provide you with ongoing support, not just during our sessions but throughout your entire journey to better mental health.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation to anyone seeking therapy because I believe it’s important that we both feel we’re a good fit. You can easily sign up to Youlio for free, and once your account is created, you’ll be able to book a time and date that suits you.
During the consultation, we’ll briefly discuss your current situation and explore potential treatment options for moving forward.
