About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Danny and I am a BACP qualified Integrative Psychotherapist. My qualifications include two Masters degrees; one in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and another in Psychology with a background in Sports Science. My modalities involve incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Approach. The Integrative approach is a holistic approach which allows therapy to be tailored to individual needs. I have worked in private practice, schools, sports settings and as a counselling lead in a specialist eating disorder organisation, amongst other settings. I also have interests and experience with Existential, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy approaches.

In contrast to a world where organisations are using short-term therapies to provide quick fix 'instant therapy' approaches (which often have you going back); my philosophy is to provide an authentic, reflective and insightful approach to therapy that will aim to provide long-term benefits. I will use my diverse knowledge of psychology and psychotherapy to work holistically and use evidence-based approaches to ensure you can improve all areas of your life.

Practice description

No matter how big or small you feel your issue is I am dedicated to providing a safe space for you to process and explore these issues. Whether you are someone struggling with anxiety or depression, going through a big life change or if you just feel a little overwhelmed at the moment and not sure why; then I can provide you with coping strategies and steps to begin to unlock your potential and/or heal your mind. I believe in being empathetic to your needs, but also giving you the ability to gently challenge your situation and develop resilience to overcome your circumstance.

I have a few main areas of focus such as eating disorders, men's mental health, neurodiversity and high performance environments, though I have worked with a range of issues in my practice. I have worked in both short-term and long-term therapy.

My first session

I offer a free initial consultation which lasts around 20-30 minutes to go through a standard assessment with you. This is also a chance for us both to consider whether we are correct for each other and a chance for you to ask questions too. This is done over the phone to make it as easy as possible.
