About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I believe the relationship between myself and you to be the most important thing and I am aim to offer a non judgmental space for you to bring whatever is on your mind and troubling you.

I work integratively, meaning that I draw on a variety of psychotherapy models such as psychodynamic, where you look at early childhood attachment and the impact this has had on you today and Transactional analysis where you look at patterns in relating to self and others which have formed in the past. My main aim is to help you process your emotions around difficult areas of your life and allow you space to explore them. We can do this through talking, art or even using nature to help us go deeper on a woodland walking session.

I have a special interest in helping those from dysfunctional or difficult family backgrounds, miscarriage and baby loss, anxiety, relational issues and childhood trauma and abuse. But my main interest is helping others to feel seen, heard and understood and allow you to grief or work through whatever it is that feels difficult.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi Welcome, my name is Emma. Firstly I want you to know that your problem is not too big or too small for therapy, you deserve the time and space to be heard, held and helped. Secondaly you will never bore me, I love talking deeply and will go down any rabbit hole you want to go down and will sit with you whilst you process. I am naturally a dynamic and creative person and a lover of nature and spirituality, so I draw on these things in our work if they resonate with you too.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and member of the BACP and ACC.

I aim to offer you a safe, supportive and non judgemental space to help you explore your current difficulties whatever they may be. Nothing is out of bounds with me.

My counselling training enabled me to study different modalities such as psychodynamic theory, gestalt, transactional anyalsis, person centred theory and third wave CBT to name a few.  However I believe the relationship we form is one of the most important aspects to helping you work through your difficulties and I welcome challenges and questions from you so you can feel safe with me.

Additionally there is never any pressure to talk about anything that feels uncomfortable, but I am here if and when you do want to work on the uncomfortable parts of your life, something this can take time and that is normal.

I aim to offer equal amounts of empathy, support and gentle challenge depending on what you are going through and what is appropriate.
