I currently offer remote sessions (online or telephone) during evenings and weekends.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Sarah (she/her) and I am a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor offering remote sessions UK wide (video or phone).
I work using a trauma-informed, Person-Centred Approach which means I believe that each and every person is innately deserving of respect and are the experts in themselves. To me, connection is everything in therapy - I work hard to get to know you as a person, and how your experiences have really affected you - not who the world tells you you 'should' be. Your feelings and lived experiences are the most important thing in our sessions and I will work alongside you to explore your difficulties and empower you to discover your own solutions - at your own pace.
I have a wide experience working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, loss, relationships and self-discovery. I also have particular experience working with survivors of sexual violence/assault and those in the perinatal period.
Practice description
I am warm, understanding and compassionate. I am not here to tell you what to do, but instead to help you connect to your truth and make the changes which are right for you. You will always be in the 'driving seat' and will have the power to decide what we focus on, as well as how far we go. I aim to make our sessions feel safe so that you get the most out of the work by feeling heard, seen and valued.
My first session
I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation call (phone or video) for you to ask me any questions which might help you see if we would be a good fit.
Should you decide to book in for a first session with me, we will go through a contract together which is designed to make the work feel contained and safe for us both.
It's completely normal to be nervous during the first session and to have lots of questions. It's also completely normal to not know where to start (!) and so I can gently guide us through and start exploring together what the focus of our work might be.
