In person sessions are conducted from my therapy room in Higham Ferrers Northamptonshire. I also offer online and telephone counselling sessions which I have extensive training and experience of.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Catherine. Seeking help can be daunting. You may be asking questions, for example: Do I need counselling? What can counselling do for me? How long will I have to have counselling for? Is this counsellor going to be right for me? It is only natural to have questions when embarking on a new journey. During your free 15 minute consultation you will have the chance to address these questions. Speaking to a prospective counsellor can help alleviate concerns and be a good way to gauge if you feel they are someone you could work with.
I work in a person-centred way using listening and reflection to help you make sense of where certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours may stem from. Also, by asking the right questions in the right places, I can help you to explore why you behave, think and feel they way you do in your relationships, working, social and family life.
Practice description
Counselling sessions can be conducted in person, online or on the telephone. Sessions are always conducted in a quiet and confidential space. They typically last for 50 minutes. After our initial 15 minute telephone chat/consultation, if you decide to go ahead and book a session we can discuss what your expectations are and what you would like to get from your sessions. There is no pressure to commit to long or short term therapy, this can be regularly reviewed to ensure you feel you are getting the best from your sessions.
My first session
I offer a free telephone consultation. This consultation session can be useful to help answer any questions you may have. Also, it is important that there is a connection and you feel at ease with your counsellor, therefore a short conversation might help determine if I am the right fit for you.
