About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Bex
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches so that our work together is individual to you as the client. I work in a relationally orientated way to create a safe and supportive space to explore your feelings and the difficulties you may be experiencing.
Practice description
Like most UKCP and BACP psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, family and relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress and trauma. I also have additional experience in working with adults who are suffering from compulsive overeating, emotional overeating and binge eating disorder, as well as working with clients who are neurodivergent.
I believe that it is important to feel connected, both with yourself and others, and to feel valued and understood.
In our work together I will:
- Listen with empathy to really understand your experience of the world
- Develop with you, a therapeutic relationship where you feel able to safely explore what is troubling you
- Work creatively with you in a way that opens up the possibility for change, growth and healing
- Be genuine, compassionate and open in our work together
I work in face to face settings but can also work with you online. I am able to offer creative counselling including sand tray work, if this way of working is of interest to you.
Training & Qualifications
I trained with Matrix College and Middlesex University and have an advanced diploma, and a degree in Integrative counselling. I have a private practice and also work for an eating disorder charity.
Location
Rowan House has free parking, toilets and a cafe. My room is upstairs so please speak to me with any concerns about accessibility.
My first session
In our initial session you will have space to talk about what has brought you to counselling. It will also provide the opportunity for me to answer any questions you may have and to see how we might work together.
The best way to contact me is by email as I may not always be available to answer my phone, however if you prefer to contact me by phone, you are welcome to leave me a message with your contact details so I can get back to you.
