About me and my therapy practice
I work in-person with clients experiencing a variety of issues including, depression, anxiety, frustration, alienation, shame, low mood, and self-esteem issues.
I have particular experience in helping people struggling with damaging lifestyle choices, for example, addiction or dependency issues, and people struggling with identity, sexuality, relationship concerns, and trauma, current or historic.
I offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental space in which to explore and unravel the reasons why you may feel the way you do. Enabling you to understand that there can be a different way. Helping and supporting you to identify the causes of your discomfort, to make positive changes to deal with the problems you face and ultimately see how life can be better.
You don't need a diagnosis or a recognised condition to try counselling - it has helped countless people.
You have already taken the first step.
Practice description
I am a BACP registered, Person-Centred Therapist. I practice face to face in a humanistic and holistic manner drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to maximise effective outcomes. Working with you at your pace without judgment and in complete confidence, on whatever you bring to our sessions.
I take pride in remaining up to date with emerging thinking regarding counselling, community, and identity.
My first session
Our initial session will be an opportunity to discuss the issues you are facing, to give you an idea of what counselling with me involves and a framework for what might be achieved. This will give you the chance to ask any questions and, since it is vital to find someone you feel comfortable with, decide if you would like us to continue working together.
