About me and my therapy practice
Does the holiday time feel you with dread? Are you worried about spending time with people you find difficult? Or maybe you have lost someone close, and you find this time of year hard? I offer a safe space for you to talk - whether it is about something that happened in the past, now, or is a worry about the future - helping you to feel calmer and more in control.
I am an integrative counsellor who helps adults who may face day to day anxiety and worries, whether because of something they are going through now, or in the past so they can look to the future with confidence.
Are you a People Pleaser? Does the idea of speaking up for yourself makes you feel ill? Maybe you feel like something needs to change in your life but you're not sure what or how?
Perhaps you are a parent who feels anxious about work or you are a carer for members of the family? Juggling work, family and time for yourself can be overwhelming, and many parents and carers struggle with anxiety and guilt whilst wanting to build a more balanced life.
I help parents and unpaid carers who have taken time off work to build their confidence and self esteem so they can take their next steps.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, simply put that means that I use different tools from different types of Counselling; CBT, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic and Person - Centered, to support you in understanding and caring for yourself, giving you a safe space to talk.
I understand the real shock of what it can be like going back to work - navigating all the issues that come with being a parent, and someone who works. I also understand the erosion of self-confidence that can happen after taking time out. Taking the first step can feel difficult.

On our first session together we will talk about what issues bring you to counselling. This can vary - sometimes its issues from the past or present. Sometimes its worries about the future or a vague feeling that something needs to change.
Sometimes what people bring to counselling initially may not be what they want to work on as time progresses. Counselling can bring up issues that you may wish to explore further. Our first session is a chance to talk about what is happening for you.
Our first session together is a chance for you to ask any questions you have about counselling and to go through our counselling agreement together. We will talk about what times work best for you.
