About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I'm Ali. I’m a London therapist offering sessions face to face in Central London, close to Harley Street, and online to anyone in the UK. I also offer walk and talk therapy in a variety of green spaces across London.
Since you’ve found your way to this page, you’re most likely struggling with something in your life, and may be looking for some help with coping. Feelings and situations in life can be overwhelming and talking to an experienced professional can help you to sort out the jumble and make sense of what’s happening, and what you need.
In our counselling sessions, we can talk about whatever is on your mind right now. I'm caring, calm, empathic and easy to talk to. I provide a non-judgmental, confidential space, focused on what you need.
Through my own experience, I've seen how counselling can transform the way we think, how we manage relationships and make decisions about our lives. We can work together to find ways to have happy, healthy relationships and to discover what you really want from your life.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practise in line with their ethical framework.
Practice description
I became a psychotherapist after a long career working as a CEO in charities. In these roles and voluntary positions I’ve worked to provide support for disabled people and those with chronic health conditions (including long covid), LGBT+ folks and people with substance addiction, among other issues. Most recently I’ve provided IAPT counselling for NHS patients in South London.
I have many years’ experience with issues faced by LGBTQ+ people, from engagement in my community and various volunteering roles including with the Albert Kennedy Trust, Metro and the Pink Singers. I welcome clients with diverse gender identities and sexualities who may wish to work on issues in this area - or just to feel comfortable that this part of you will be accepted in this space.
I have experience of working with the following areas:
Addiction, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Borderline personality, Chronic illness (including long covid), Depression, Disability, Domestic abuse, Family issues, LGBTQ+, Personality disorders, Relationships, Self esteem, Stress and work, Trauma and PTSD
I’d be pleased to hear from you if these or any other issues have affected your life, and you'd like a space to talk.
I believe in our ability to understand ourselves better through talking in a non-judgmental space; to see our life from new angles and perspectives. By gaining awareness of our feelings and how life experiences have led us to think or act in certain ways, we can see where change can happen.
I'm ready to support you with a trusting and empathic relationship which allows you to work through problems and find a more positive future.
