About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I am a psychotherapist based in Cheadle Hulme. l love working with people and supporting them to make positive changes in their lives. We all share the desire and drive to be the best person we possibly can and to have healthy, loving relationships. Sometimes life gets in the way and we get stuck in a moment, a thought or a pattern of behaviour. Life can be difficult and the way forward is not always clear. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy for personal growth, to live in the here-and-now and to better connect with the things that truly matter to you.
I trained in Integrative Psychotherapy specialising in Transactional Analysis, a theory of personality that looks at how our past can affect our present and how old belief systems can sometimes get in the way of making the changes we want. It is also a great tool for understanding what is going on when we communicate with others and for developing our own self awareness.
I am also trained in Person Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Stress Management. I will draw on these approaches as we work together with your needs at the heart of my approach.
I have experience of working with relationship problems, blended families, adult adoptees, anxiety and depression, surviving sexual abuse and bereavement. I work with both neurodiverse and neurotypical clients. Having worked in the corporate environment I am aware of the harm that work stress can have on our health and mental well being and the challenges of maintaining a healthy work life balance. I have insight into the games that can get played out in the workplace and the harm they can do. Transactional analysis is a great tool for understanding behaviour and regaining personal control.
Choosing the right therapist is important. I offer a free introductory telephone consultation so please get in touch. I aim to respond to all contacts within 24 hours Monday to Friday.
