How can I help you?
The everyday issues of life can be overwhelming at times. This can result in depression, confusion, loss of self-esteem, anxiety, challenges in relationships, feelings of loneliness and fears about the future. If any of this sounds familiar, I can help you unpick the tangle of thoughts and emotions you are experiencing, support you to understand any underlying issues, and begin to develop tools to navigate a way forward.
How can counselling help?
As a qualified Counsellor, I will support you to explore what is happening for you in a warm and relaxed environment. You can safely share your thoughts and feelings knowing that I will listen with respect, and without judgment. As you put your thoughts and feelings into words, you begin to get to know yourself better and develop new ways to manage your own emotional landscape. You can make changes if you wish – or it may simply be a relief to begin to understand what is happening.

Faith Awareness
I have experience in working with people from Christian and other faith traditions – as well as those with no specific belief – who want to integrate their spirituality with their mental and emotional wellbeing. I never seek to give advice or impose my own world view. Rather, I encourage you to use your own unique experience, values, gifts and beliefs to decide what’s best for you.
How I work
People say I quickly put them at ease and provide a sense of calm. I am warm, down to earth and easy to talk to. I adapt my approach according to what is most helpful to you as an individual client, integrating a variety of skills that are backed by scientific research. These include Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Regardless of the theoretical approach, the most important thing is for me to listen and understand, and support you to move towards your goals.

Since emotional health often impacts physical wellbeing, you may find that our work together alleviates problems such as insomnia, migraines, eating and digestive issues, minor skin complaints or other emotionally driven disorders. Through my holistic approach, most people find they begin to move towards a healthier and more satisfying life.
My first session
What can I expect?
Sessions are 50 minutes long, and normally take place on a weekly basis. As a fully qualified and insured member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I use a variety of theoretical approaches (including TA and CBT) to meet your specific needs.
Appointments can be arranged to fit your schedule. I usually work face to face, but online or home appointments are also possible. I am based in Stockport and easy to find – close to the M60 and just a few minutes away from the town centre, with plenty of parking and public transport nearby.
