About me and my therapy practice
I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their personal journeys at their own pace. My approach is client-centered, meaning I work alongside you, adapting to your unique style and needs as you process and navigate through your experiences. Whether it’s working through trauma, identifying healthy relationships, or recognizing repeated patterns of behavior, I support you in a way that honors your individual process.
I have particular experience and training in areas including trauma-informed care, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, childhood trauma, addiction, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, and understanding recurring behavioural patterns. Together, we will work to uncover underlying patterns, process emotional challenges, and move toward a place of greater clarity and healing.
Practice description
I offer a person-centred approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy to provide tailored support that meets the unique needs of each client. My practice is grounded in the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring that confidentiality is upheld and that the client’s best interests are always at the heart of our work together.
Sessions are conducted via phone or online, providing flexibility and accessibility. At the end of each session, I offer a debrief where we reflect on what was covered and mutually agree on what the focus will be for the next session. Every six sessions, we review the style of counselling to assess whether the approach is effective or if adjustments are needed.
This process allows for a collaborative and evolving therapeutic journey, ensuring that the work continues to meet the client’s needs as they progress.
My first session
Before our first full session begins, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation. During this time, we will discuss what you are hoping to achieve through counselling, explore your expectations, and establish what is realistically achievable. This conversation allows us to create a clear service agreement, ensuring we are aligned in how we will work together moving forward.
In this consultation, we will also cover any practical details, such as session times and scheduling, to make sure that none of your paid counselling time is spent on administrative matters. Once everything is agreed upon, we will begin the session itself. The 15-minute consultation is free and designed to help you feel confident and informed before starting your counselling journey.
