About me and my therapy practice
I'm Vicki, a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have over 3 years of proffessional experience with a rich background of previous experience in various roles within the NHS. Working with remarkable patients and colleagues has fueled my passion for enhancing both mental and physical well-being, leading me to pursue a career in counselling. Throughout my training and work I have witnessed both professionally and personally the benefit of having a facilitated safe, supported, confidential therapeutic space to explore past, present and future complexities, with acceptance and compassion.
Practice description
I understand that beginning this journey can be challenging, often bringing feelings of anxiety, indecision, or fear. These emotions are natural when contemplating change. In a warm, caring environment, I offer support and empathy. Together, we will explore how your feelings and experiences shape your thoughts and actions, helping you understand yourself better. This process will empower you to find your own solutions and live a more resourceful life. Alternatively, I can simply provide a non-judgmental, confidential ear, offering the understanding and acceptance you may not find elsewhere. I aim to know you as a whole person, recognising that your difficulties and your life experiences do not define you or the future. I don’t offer advice, I trust that you know what's best for you. However, I will support you every step of the way as you embark on a journey to discover the life you want and deserve. I work predominantly in a person-centred way integrating other approaches such as; compassion-focused therapy and mindfulness.
I currently offer online and phone sessions - all held within a confidential space. I have experience also in offering a text messaging session.
My first session
If you're unsure how to proceed from this stage of exploring counselling or therapy, feel free to email or text me with any questions. I offer a complimentary, no-obligation 20-minute session where you can meet me and discuss how we might work together. I feel this is important for you to decide if I am the right therapist for you. Here we will discuss our working together contract, sessions and therapy goals
