I have over 13 years’ experience working in clinical settings in the substance misuse field and mental health. I have previously been a service treatment manager, until recently becoming a life coach counsellor. I also have experience within bereavement and loss.
I am extremely passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals. By taking a person centred approach, I support people to concentrate on the ‘here and now’ to reach their greatest state of well-being. I work with a range of clients, with many support needs.
This includes (but is not limited to):
Abuse, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Coaching, Depression, Loss, Obsessions, Redundancy, Relationships, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Stress, Substance Misuse, Trauma, Work-related issues.
Face to Face appointments are held in Redcar, North Yorkshire, in my therapy room which is peaceful and confidential.
Practice description
I support people under a variety of different modalities, including; Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centred Counselling. I have previously worked as the Manager for a quasi-residential Rehabilitation Centre and a 12-Step Structured Day Programme, which also included a Detox Unit and Relapse Prevention Workshops.
I hold a Diploma in Leadership and Management and have a wealth of experience with regards to Coaching and Mentoring, alongside being fully qualified to deliver Trauma Informed Care (TIC); TIC recognises the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individuals’ life.
I specialise in Person-Centred approaches, so that my clients’ preferences, needs and values guide all therapy-related decisions and I make sure to provide care that is always respectful and responsive.
My first session
Having been through the therapy process, I know how hard it is to reach out and get help. So many questions running through your head and sometimes fear of the unknown.
After you’ve reached out I’ll contact you to find out more such as what’s brought you here, how I could help you and answer any of your questions or concerns. There’s absolutely no obligation to then book any sessions, it’s entirely your choice. It’s your journey.
If you decide you would like to book a session after our confidential chat. My Rates are £50 for individual sessions and ongoing sessions.
