About me and my therapy practice
I understand that acknowledging difficulties and coming forward for counselling can be daunting. You may be finding yourself feeling anxious or depressed, or perhaps struggling with a bereavement or a trauma and unsure where to turn.
My philosophy as a therapist is that we work together to understand what is troubling you and to find a way through. If you don't know what the problem is, we'll work it out, and if you do know, then that's where we'll start. Sometimes therapy can be about recognising the patterns of behaviour that keep us stuck, understanding how and why we developed them and making active changes; having awareness of your childhood and past experiences while focusing on your present concerns.
The weekly session will be your time and space, where we can identify the roots of your difficulties, what change might look like and what steps you can take to help you feel better, empowering you to find your own solutions.
I am a qualified and experienced Integrative-Relational Counsellor.
This means that I have a wide range of theoretical knowledge allowing me to provide the most appropriate way of working with you. I will listen to you carefully and without judgement and together we will explore your concerns.

My first session
I facilitate both long-term and short-term work, and in our initial session, we will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and the areas you would like to focus on. My preference is to work together 'in person' but I recognise that sometimes working online is necessary.
I feel that the relationship we create together is absolutely integral to the success of the work, so it is important that you feel I am someone you could work with. I offer a free 15 min telephone call so you can decide if you would like to meet.
