About me and my therapy practice
My name is Kate. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor offering face-to-face and online appointments in the Stoke Newington area of North London.
I am an attentive, warm, empathic therapist focused on providing a non-judgemental, supportive space for you to come and explore your current concerns.
Anxiety and depression can have an enormous impact on our present emotional state. You may feel trapped in particular behaviours, wonder why your relationships always seem to take the same course, or you do not seem to be achieving your potential. You may feel unsettled by a particular event, crisis, or traumatic situation, be finding it difficult to manage your anger, lack self-esteem and confidence, or grapple with questions about life or love. Whatever your current concern, it can have a past and future context and as an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a variety of different approaches and techniques to flexibly tailor therapy to your individual experiences and needs.
With a developing sense of awareness, you can become aware of patterns that no longer serve you, and this can create space for new possibilities. We can set goals and expand choices in the present that will increase resilience and well being and can enhance the quality of all areas of life.
Practice description
I offer open-ended therapy, which means that the exploration under taken together will be at your pace, for as long or as short as you need, and for as long as the therapy is useful to you. Sessions are 50 minutes at the same time and day each week.
My first session
I offer a free initial 15 minute phone call to talk through your needs and requirements. This initial phone call is an opportunity for you to tell me briefly about what has brought you to therapy, and it is also an opportunity to hear a little about me. If we decide that my services could be of help to you, we can book in an introductory session.
Prior to an introductory session I will send some information via email about how I work and practice location. This initial session allows us to feel what it might be like to work together, and is an opportunity to ask any questions. We will talk more about what has brought you to therapy and what you might want from our sessions.
Finding the right therapist is important. You will be given time and space to consider whether you feel we are a good fit, and in some instances I may refer clients on to more specialised services where appropriate. If we decide to work together, we will agree a day and time to meet weekly for 50 minutes.
