About me and my therapy practice
Hello!
My name is Ineta Kokorisa and I am a Gestalt Therapist (MBACP) offering weekly in-person and online therapy sessions.
Having experienced the transformative power of therapy in my own life, I am passionate about supporting others with their process of healing and reclaiming the joy of life. Life throws many things at us which can knock us off our feet. Many of my clients have come to counselling feeling anxious, sad, frustrated, lonely, angry, depressed, experiencing relationship difficulties, or just really stuck and in each case we have been able to work together to change those feelings. As a Gestalt trained counsellor I can help you to fulfill your potential, to explore yourself and fully embrace life. I am interested in you, your difficulties and your life transitions. Life is a big adventure and you do not have to be alone in the journey. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, confidential and supportive space for thoughts and feelings to unfold and be explored. I work collaboratively with whatever you bring to the sessions, as the therapy room is your space. I can also offer mindfulness based approaches to clients when appropriate.
Practice description
I will work with you towards greater self -understanding, self-acceptance, freedom to choose the way you want to live your life. You may come to feel some of your issues can be changed, some can be accepted, all can be understood. These are lifelong processes of discovery. The focus is on gaining awareness now, so that we can take responsibility for the choices that we make for ourselves. As a result we can live more fully in the present and find meaning in our inner and outer worlds.
I work in person in Tooting Bec, Kensington, London Bridge, or online and offer 50-minute long therapy - time limited or open ended sessions.
I abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework. I’m committed to my continuous professional development and attend ongoing supervision, so I can best support my clients with whatever they bring to the therapy.
My first session
If you want to give it a try, why not to text me or send me an email so that I can answer any other questions you may have and then we can arrange the session. The first session will be a bit different to other sessions as this will be for us to meet and get to know each other, work through any questions you may have and also discuss your expectations for the counselling. During the session I will also ask you for information on what has brought you to counselling and some other questions to help me to identify the most appropriate way for us to work together.
I know finding the right therapist can be daunting. That's why I offer a complimentary 15-minute chat where you can ask questions, and most importantly, see if we click.
Feeling at ease and supported in therapy is essential, and this initial chat allows us to establish that foundation.
