I currently work at a hospice, offering bereavement counselling one day a week. Since 2021, I have been a helpline and peer support group volunteer with a charity for survivors of sexual violence. I have worked as a counsellor in an addiction charity, and for a low-cost counselling agency.
My training
I qualified with a Person-Centred Foundation Degree (FdSc), awarded by the University of Brighton. Other training includes:
- Bereavement care (St Wilfrid’s Hospice)
- Survivors’ Network trauma training to support survivors of sexual violence, including child sexual abuse. Other trauma courses, including polyvagal theory and trauma-informed stabilisation treatment.
- Foundation course in domestic abuse counselling.
- Working with substance misuse/addiction
- TA101 (introduction to Transactional Analysis)
- Living and working with neurodivergence
- Certificate in Therapeutic Skills and Studies – Metanoia Institute
