About me and my therapy practice

I help people with anxiety, relationships (especially trauma), self-esteem issues, and grief. Therapy is about connection, feeling heard and understood—and sometimes even finding lightness in the process. I offer a safe space for you to explore and make sense of things.

I primarily work with queer men and women experiencing anxiety, self esteem issues and those struggling in relationships, particularly when it comes to narcissistic abuse and trauma.

I have a deep commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, offering queer-affirming therapy with experience in addressing issues around sexuality. Having worked with Leeds-based sexual health charities, I’m well-versed in the unique challenges faced by gay men and the broader queer community.

I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed—whether it’s anxiety, uncertainty about where life is going, or struggling with relationships. My own experience with panic attacks and overthinking led me to therapy, first as a client, then as a counsellor. That journey shaped how I work today.

Sometimes, life just feels stuck. You might not even know exactly what’s wrong—just that something isn’t working. Maybe it’s self-doubt creeping in, the same relationship patterns playing out, or a general sense of being lost. I offer a space to unpack all of that, to help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions without judgment or psychobabble.

Practice description

The ethos behind my practice is that we will only go as far as you are comfortable. We may establish a general goal for therapy together, but week by week, the sessions are yours - I won't lead or dictate. I liken my practice to helping you arrange a puzzle. If you lay down the pieces, we work together to arrange them.

Some people wish to focus on strength and strategies, which can be useful for anxiety. I have found this particularly true in my work, and especially with male clients.

I am person-centred, and very much lean into the nature of counselling as talking therapy. If agreed, we can work on challenging you and your thought patterns with cognitive behavioral techniques, or searching for practical solutions. The past affects us, but whether we go there or not is up to you.

My first session

I offer a free ten minute phone call to discuss your needs and expectations from therapy.

The first 50 minute session will be about getting to know your story and also offering you the opportunity to ask me any questions about how I work.

Ahead of the session, I will send you some forms to complete, which are important for establishing our working parameters and explain how I store your information.
