About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am a professionally qualified counsellor working with a wide range of issues within a non-judgemental, warm space where your unique experiences and patterns in life can be shared and explored together. Issues I work with include depression, anxiety, self-harm, life transitions, family relationships, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, OCD, grief and loss.
I believe that the counselling relationship can be a secure and supportive base from which you can discover your inner resources to find your own way through difficult times in life towards self-understanding and changes. My relational approach to counselling draws upon theories including transactional analysis, attachment theory and use psychodynamic understandings, which place emphasis on how past relationships and experiences can impact our present feelings of well-being and ability to cope with challenges.
Prior to qualifying as an integrative counsellor, I studied psychology at university and later qualified with a BA (Hons) in Education following which I then worked within mainstream and special educational settings for over 15 years. These experiences inspired me to work more closely with mental health and led to training for over 5 years to a further qualification of a Diploma in psychotherapeutic integrative counselling (CPCAB and BACP accredited). I have further training in working with self-harm, suicide and with dissociative disorders. In addition to my role as a counsellor, I also have experience in providing professional support within counselling organisations, including a young persons’ counselling service. I currently work from The Crescent Practice in Horsham: https://www.thecrescentpractice.co.uk/contact-us/
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work face-to-face as well as offering online and telephone sessions.

Practice description
I work with clients both short-term and long-term depending upon your reasons for seeking counselling. Sessions are led by your needs and what you would like to bring, rather than being guided by myself; I believe you are an expert on your own life and hold the answers somewhere within you and I can support you to access these.

Practice description
At the moment in London, I have online sessions available.
Some people prefer to receive counselling or psychotherapy online for different reasons:
Lack of time can prevent some people from being able to schedule a Practice based appointment or travel to see a counsellor.
Physical difficulties may prevent some people from travelling or they may prefer the comfort of their own home.
Shyness or embarrassment can affect how people prefer to receive counselling, for some, online or remote counselling feels more discreet.
Agoraphobia or social anxiety. Many phobias and some mental health issues may prevent some people from travelling or spending time in new environments.
I work with clients both short-term and long-term depending upon your reasons for seeking counselling and also offer a number of low-cost spaces, with a short waiting list for these low-cost appointments.
