About me and my therapy practice

"We realise the importance of our voice when it is !silenced!"

(Malala Yousafzai)

I am an accredited integrative counsellor/psychotherapist with over 15 year experience in working in the counselling field. I am currently offering face to face work in the Armagh area or online/telephone counselling. My ethos in working is from a non-judgemental approach/ empathy and I fully adhere to the ethical guidelines as prescribed by BACP/IACP.

People wonder what counselling and psychotherapy are, and what the difference is. Well it's simple really; counselling is about talking something through to gain clarity about thoughts and feelings, while psychotherapy focuses more deeply on the limiting beliefs that are "programming" us outside our awareness and holding us back. The mind has a great wisdom of its own and gaining insight can be a great release, and when we change our thoughts we can change our whole life.

"After the storm comes the Rainbow".

My Specialisms

Suicide Bereavement/ Ideation; Conflict Management; Working with children with special needs; Working with people who were born in the Magdalene homes or parents who are trying to locate their children (Personal Knowledge and Experience within this Area) Clerical Abuse.

As an integrative counsellor I draw on all modalities so we can work together using the best approach for you. I provide a safe space where you can be heard and we can explore the difficulties as they are now and consider the context and history of where they may have come. I have worked in a leading bereavement organisation and with charities associated with suicide and crisis as well as in schools and private practice.
