About me and my therapy practice

As well as happiness, human life involves pain. If you are feeling hopeless and don't know where to begin untangling your mind, I am here to support you on your journey towards peace.

In the words of the poet Mary Oliver:

“. . . you strode deeper and deeper

into the world,

determined to do

the only thing you could do—

determined to save

the only life that you could save.”

-

I have specialist training in working with self-harm and suicidal thoughts, as well as female mental health support groups. I also have extensive experience with poetry, and welcome the integration of creative pursuits into our therapeutic work. My specialities are not limitations, as I work with clients of all genders and presentations, focusing instead on the connection between us.

Person-centred therapy is a humanistic model that prioritises an authentic relationship between therapist and client, one grounded in empathy and non-judgement. There is no time limit on how long our work may take, be that a few months or many years. Open-ended therapy allows for a flexible approach to mental health, and the way I practice is not similar to CBT or time-limited, directive models.

If you think I may be the right therapist for you and would like to arrange a consultation, please get in touch.

Practice description
