About me and my therapy practice
The heart of my practice is compassionate, holistic care that is collaborative, integrative, and person-centred. Using a person-centred approach means that I put you at the centre of the counselling process. I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential place where you can explore what's happening in your life, any blocks or difficulties you are having.
As an integrative counsellor, I use elements of different approaches to help you explore and deal with your problems, I take into account you as an individual and your circumstances. Everyone's different, so what works for one person might not work for another. I aim to collaborate with you to find the right approach for you.
I offer both short and long term counselling for individuals aged 15 and over. I can offer face to face counselling sessions, I also offer online and telephone counselling.
I work with lots of different people covering issues ranging from stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, personal difficulties and life changes, self esteem and confidence, anger, work-related problems and bereavement. Although there are many other areas in which I can help.
Practice description
I have worked in the mental health sector for several years, with young people and perinatal mental health. I hold a BACP accredited diploma in counselling and am studying a BSc in psychology with counselling. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life's challenges, I regularly take part in supervision, training and CPD.
When it comes to finding a counsellor, it can be a daunting experience. I am a friendly, down-to-earth counsellor who offers you a safe, contained space in a relaxed environment to explore what is happening in your life. As we work together, you'll be shown respect, understanding, and patience, so that you can speak freely and openly. I can help you work through issues and challenges that you are facing and help you move forward.
My first session
I do not charge in advance for a set number of consultations, or a course of treatment. I endeavour to help clients feel better when they leave the first consultation, to have homework tasks or activities to complete, and to continue to progress towards their goals between each session. If a client is not progressing I will endeavour to find an alternative and more suitable therapist and/or therapeutic approach.

Practice description
Therapy can be a daunting process for people, as they feel they may have to talk repeatedly about difficult feelings or events - or even recall memories that they would prefer not to revisit. My approach does not work that way because the latest research shows that it is not the most effective way to assist people in moving forward.
I am a compassionate, down-to-earth counsellor who offers you a safe, contained space to explore what is happening in your life. As we work together, you'll be shown respect, understanding, and patience, so that you can express yourself freely and openly without judgement. Together, we can work through the difficulties you are facing and help you to move forward using an integrative, evidence-based approach. I can help you develop strategies to cope with life's challenges, as well as helping you to identify your strengths and areas for personal growth.
My first session
When you contact me, I will ask you to complete an initial consultation form. I offer an initial 15 minute consultation in person or via video call free of charge.
The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to tell me about your current situation, ask any questions you may have, and learn more about how I may be able to help you.
Furthermore, it provides us both with the opportunity to determine whether therapy is suitable for you.
There may be some cases in which we agree that therapy is not the most appropriate treatment for you. Our discussion will explore the reasons why and we will propose alternative services or treatments that may be more appropriate.
The consultation is also a chance for you to see whether I am the right therapist for you.
