About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative counsellor so this means that I may draw on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. I may use elements of psychodynamic therapy. This involves helping you to bring your subconscious - what is just below the surface of your awareness - into your conscious mind. It helps you become more aware of what’s in your subconscious, such as difficult memories and experiences, so you can understand how these deep-rooted feelings impact on you in the present and how you can learn to cope with them. This may involve understanding and changing behaviour patterns that were created as survival techniques but which no longer serve you.
I may bring in elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This looks at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and helps you to change some of these when you are finding they are unhelpful to your life.
I recognise the importance of the mind and body connection as so, depending on what is the right approach for you and what you are comfortable with, I may also use 3rd Wave CBT and somatic (body-based) techniques such as mindfulness and breath work. I may also incorporate creative therapy techniques.

Do any of the following questions seem familiar to you and your life? -
Have you identified patterns of behaviour that are causing problems for yourself and others?
Or are you experiencing thoughts and emotions that you are finding difficult to manage? Perhaps you have feelings of anxiety, overthinking, catastrophising, self-loathing, anger, sadness, loneliness, abandonment, rejection or shame.
Do you feel lost or unsure of your identity?
Or do you need support as you navigate a difficult period in your life due to loss or change?
Do you want to try to understand the impact of a traumatic event or events in your life? This could be something recent or things that happened a long time ago.
