About me and my therapy practice
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them” – Albert Einstein
Hello, I’m Krissy. I’m a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, trained to a degree level in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My approach is solution focused; I want to help you explore the deeper meanings behind your worries and find a solution to overcome what’s holding you back from reaching your full potential.
The CBT model explores the link between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We work together to establish what limiting beliefs may be causing you distress and use interventions to alleviate these.
I have experience working with a wide variety of adults and young people. I have worked in Mental Health within the charitable and public sectors, helping a large amount of people along the way.
I have worked with many issues with varying degrees of severity, including but not limited to; Anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias, dissociative disorder, personality disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, abuse, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, grief and loss, relationship issues, stress and work related stress, paranoia, intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideation and crisis, substance misuse, self-harm, anger and neurodiversity challenges.
Practice description
I accept clients from ages 11 and up. Having recently worked on projects supporting young people who have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become my mission to help as many young people as possible to develop confidence and resilience in this new normal. For this reason, I offer reduced rates to young people aged between 11-25.
I know first hand how daunting it can be searching for a therapist to share your deepest fears and worries with. I can assure you that you will be treated with respect, understanding and kindness.
